This is a very in depth and comprehensive care sheet on the general care and health of Bearded Dragons. Please note that it represents my opinions and is based on my own research of the topic. If you disagree with anything within the care sheet please get in contact with me. If you would like to add to it, again please get in touch.
Bearded Dragons are possibly the best beginner reptile there is. Originating from Australia, they are tame, very active and tolerate a lot of attention. For someone looking to
get into herps, I would recommend them in an instant.
They require relatively simple care. They are omnivores, and later in life become eat salad as their main meal. The young largely feed on crickets and other small insects and worms which are dusted with supplements. They each have their own personality and ways, and soon develop a bond with their owner.
There are three main types of bearded dragon:
Pogona Vitticeps: The Inland Bearded Dragon
Pogona Barbata: Eastern Bearded Dragon
Pogona Henrylawsoni: Lawsons Dragon
There are a lot of good care sheets on the internet and I recommend you read a few to get a good range of information before
starting out. Given the proper care they can live for many years, so be prepared for the commitment. Use the links at the top
to navigate the site and feel free to contact me with any suggestions for the site or with any questions you may have.
I will be updating and adding to it regularly. Use the links on the left to get started.
