Chinese Water Dragons require very large enclosures, at least 4 feet by 4 feet by 6 feet high, so before considering one of these animals you should consider whether you have room for this. You will certainly need a custom built enclosure so if you can't make one yourself look into how much this is going to cost you. If you have the space and funds available to create the idea enclosure then these lizards are excellent pets and are very rewarding to care for. Originating in Southeast Asia, many imported water dragons come from Southern China and Thailand. Males can grow up to about 3 feet, while females are slightly smaller at about 2 feet. If properly cared for they can live for about 10 years. There are a lot of good care sheets on the internet and I recommend you read a few to get a good range of information before starting out. Given the proper care they can live for many years, so be prepared for the commitment.
